How much does it cost to ship out of the country?
I carve my own decoys. Can I make hollow molded hunting decoys from my carved decoy? And can I sell them?
Answer. Yes, and yes. You will want to make a mold of your carved decoy, and because you own it, you can sell the decoys you make from it.
I heard a guy on the forums, say that it can take a long time to make a decoy. How long does it take to make a decoy from start to finish?
Answer. Decoys can be made very quickly. For instance, I can mold a field shell decoy, with a removable head in less than 15 minutes. A floating duck or goose decoy can be molded in 20 minutes or less also. What many people chatting on the internet that haven't bought the process don't realize, is that you don't want to sit around and wait for the decoy to dry in the mold. You should be molding another decoy. If it takes a day for your decoy to be dry enough to continue on with the finishing process, and you just wait for the one you just molded to dry, it's going to take a long time to make decoys. Mold 6 or 12 or more. Than remove them from the molds, and finish them. Molds are as easy and cheap to make as the decoys, so don't spend your time foolishly waiting for one step to dry at a time. Make a few dozen, then do the painting, or whatever kind of step is next for your particular decoy. Plan on spending 15 minutes each to mold an average decoy. Then plan on spending time to go through any finishing steps you want to make, like adding keels, rigging, and things like that. You don't go to the garage, pick up the step ladder, go out to the apple tree, and pick an apple, just to go back to the garage, put that apple in a basket, and then take the ladder out to the tree to pick an apple. Use your time efficiently, and make a dozen decoys every Saturday. THIS SATURDAY is a good time to start. Great Question, let's take another.
Can I make bigfoot decoys, and crane decoys?
Answer is yes. You can copy any decoy with the ezdecoymaker process. Again I will caution you. The new big foot decoys may cause you to scratch your head trying to figure out how to mold them. You will need to make at least 3 molds to do this. But, it can be done. The feet are of particular concern. You will need to make a mold of the feet and leg assembly. And, you will want to consider molding the legs out of a resin so that they are strong enough in a wind. For those of you that are working on copying the bigfoot decoy, you are the MASTERS in my mind!! And always remember, you can e-mail me for suggestions. Same is true for decoy carvers. Just e-mail and ask.
How much does it cost to ship out of the country, like down to New Zealand?
Answer. At this time, we at ezdecoymaker have been paying all the additional postage, and take care of all the border crossing policy requirements put in place by the various governments. We hope to be able to continue doing so. Therefore, if you send your money order to be paid in United States Funds, we have no problems with postage and handling. As we ship more and more to farther and farther away lands, we might need to make some adjustments, but for now, we will handle all the additional costs if we can. We do appreciate our foreign neighbors business, and we know how much hunting you guys do down there in New Zealand! We thank every one in all lands for hunting with EZdecoymaker.
